WHAT IS ACTION FOR SOCIETY?

A collaborative platform for safer citizens of the world, where we increase safety in numbers and through actions. In the app, we create safer areas for and with each other. The human drive to make a stand adds to greater safety overall. Person by person, area by area, school by school, organisation by organisation – together we put safety on the map in many different ways.

WHY ACTION FOR SOCIETY?

Because everyone should be able to make their own way home at night without worry. No one should have to experience harassment. And everyone should be able to go to school or practice the sport they love without fear. Here they should also have the right to express their opinion and be met with respect.

Who’s behind this service?

The people behind the company have all worked for greater safety in different ways over the years: from anti-bullying in schools to The Non-violence Foundation work with helping people solving conflicts all over the world.

DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO USE THE ACTION FOR SOCIETY APP?

Nope, the app is free to download and use for all private users. For schools, organisations, municipalities and corporations, Action For Society comes as a Premium service with bespoke features and login to the Insight Portal admin tool.

WHAT IS THE INSIGHT PORTAL?

A complementary digital platform where schools and other organisations can handle incoming incidents, ideas, activities and initiatives for their particular organisation. They can put preventative measures into action and follow their particular safety development and areas of specific interest - both in real time and over longer periods.

WHAT’S REQUIRED TO START USING ACTION FOR SOCIETY?

You need a BankID registered in Sweden. There’s no age limit to use Action For Society, apart from the age limit each bank puts on issuing BankId. If you are under 18 years of age, you need approval from your guardian.

HOW DO I GET A BANKID?

For this, you need a Swedish personal number and to be a customer in a Swedish bank issuing BankID. If you don’t have BankID - talk to your guardian and check with your bank how to proceed. At every Swedish bank it’s possible for guardians to approve the use of BankID no matter your age, except Swedbank that has an age limit of 12 years old.

WHAT DOES “STANDUP” MEAN?

StandUp is the essence of what we are all about: making a stand for safer citizens of the world. Simply by downloading the app and activating “Action Mode” you make a stand by leading the way for others.

WHAT DOES “ACTION MODE” MEAN?

In short: activating your position in the app. Together we add safety by making a stand with others. In Action Mode you activate your position to form a joint heat map when there are at least two more people where you are. The more people, the deeper the colour. Depending on what the map looks like, uses can choose the safest path. You can’t see who is who on the map and your exact position will never be shown. You can turn Action Mode on and off at any time, but it’s always great to add safety in numbers.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO “SPEAKOUT”?

With Action For Society you help put safety on the map in different ways. With a SpeakOut, you can do it literally. Report incidents, suggest ideas along the way, invite to activities in your area or perhaps your organisation want to share a safety initiative of their own? Great, sharing is caring. SpeakOut, Suggest, Activate and Inform!

WHAT IS “LEARNIT”?

Together with The Non-Violence Project Foundation, you learn more about preventative safety and how to solve conflicts without violence.

HOW DO I ACCESS LEARNIT?

There are two main parts to this. While Ten Ways is shorter, inspiring and accessible for all app users, we also offer more in-depth courses for schools, sports clubs, municipalities and businesses. To access this course material, you need to be connected with an organisation in Action For Society.

WHAT DOES THE MAP SHOW?

Everyone who downloads the app Action For Society helps create safer areas by lighting the way on a joint map in the app. The more people, the greater safety in numbers. You’re anonymous on the map but part of a heat map for and with others. Depending on what the map looks like, you can always choose the safest path. Along the way you can also see ideas, activities and initiatives for greater safety in your area.

CAN I EXTEND MY SAFETY NETWORK WITH MY SCHOOL, WORKPLACE OR ORGANISATION?

Yes! If your organisation is also part of Action For Society, students, colleagues and members can connect through the app.

HOW DO I CONNECT WITH MY ORGANISATION IN THE APP?

You get a specific code from your organisation to use when registering in the app.

CAN’T people abuse THIS SERVICE?

We use BankID for greater safety overall and we make it more difficult for people to use Action For Society to their advantage. The whole point with this service is to prevent, and that we reduce the opportunities for potential offenders by making a stand together. The more users in an area, the greater chance to discourage offenders from taking action. A heat map is always made up of at least three people in the area, and no single individual is ever marked on the map.

IS MY POSITION ANONYMOUS?

Yes, your position only shows up as part of a joint heat map, without any personal identity attached to it.

HOW DO I MANAGE MY USER PROFILE IN THE APP?

Your BankID regulates your identity. In the app Settings, you can manage your user profile by adding a profile picture, email address, phone number, invite friends and family and connect with your school, workplace or other organisation. In Settings you can also log out of the app and get support if you have any questions or need technical help.

In connection with different app actions, e.g Incident Report, you can choose to be anonymous.

CAN I INVITE FRIENDS TO ACTION FOR SOCIETY?

Yes! The more, the merrier. In the app's Settings, it is possible to invite directly via your telephone contacts. Right now, the app is in Pilot phase, but when we go live you can invite as many as you like to download the app!
